Congratulations to the Intermediate Footballers who defeated Muckalee to win the County Intermediate League final yesterday in Muckalee. Playing with the aid of a strong breeze in the first half, the Rower Inistioge raced into an early lead with points from Conor Joyce, Jack Walsh and Dan Mullholland culminating in a half time scoreline of 0-7 to 0-3.
Muckalee with the aid of the breeze and the home support pressed hard in the 2nd half, however a goal from substitute David Lyng and a point from an acute angle also from David proved to be the all-important scores of the half with the Rower Inistioge emerging victorious on a scoreline of 1-8 to 0-7.
After the game County Board Vice Chairman Jim Fennelly presented the trophy to winning Captain Jim Murphy- congratulations and very well done to all involved.
