It is with heavy hearts that we share the heartbreaking news of the passing of John Murphy.
John was a tough and uncompromising defender, but this belied his natural hurling ability. He proudly lined out at full back on our Minor A County Final winning team in 2013. Our victory over O'Loughlin Gaels was the Club's first ever Minor A County title.
John hurled for the Club at all juvenile grades and adult level, and he continued to represent the Club this season.
We extend our heartfelt love and support to John's parents, Harry and Mag, his brothers, Harry and George, and his sisters, Hanna and Ellen.
We are also thinking of John's many friends and teammates at this devastating time.
As a mark of respect, all adult Club activity will be cancelled until next week, and the GAA grounds in Inistioge will be closed until next week also.
The Club will provide a Guard of Honour in John's memory.
