Our U12's won the Phil Cushen Memorial Tournament, overcoming Mooncoin on Saturday. The tournament has been running since March with two groups of six divided on a geographical basis, north and south.

The top two teams in each group qualified for the semi-finals. Our boys beat O'Loughlin Gaels, and Mooncoin beat Young Irelands in the semi-finals.

The teams were paraded around the pitch by a piper before he played the national anthem. The quality of hurling by both sides was top class. Our boy's led 2-2 to 1-1 at half time, and they stretched the lead further in the second half, winning out 2-6 to 1-3.

Phil Cushen's wife Barbara and members of her family were present for the final. The Club wishes to thank James Byrne for the incredible effort he put into running the tournament so professionally. A big thank you to parents who provided refreshments for the semi-finals and final.
