Well done to our minor panel who showed great grit and determination to grind out a two point win against a very good Erin's Own team in the first round of the Kilkenny Vehicle Centre Minor A Championship in Inistioge. The quality of hurling on show belied the appalling underfoot conditions after a night of torrential rain.
Our boys looked to be heading for a routine victory when the lead was stretched to double figures in the second half but a spirited comeback by Erin's Own and the loss of a player to a second yellow card made for a nervier finish than might earlier have been expected. However, some big late scores saw us win out 2-20 to 1-21. Well done to the management and panel on a great performance.
