Well done to our U16 panel and management on a very good win today against Piltown in the Duggan Steel U16 Roinn B Hurling Championship Quarter Final in Inistioge. The opening thirteen minutes of the game were cagey with both teams trading points to leave the scores tied 0-4 apiece. The game was effectively won when our boys scored nine unanswered points (2 frees) between the 16th and 26th minutes before Piltown halted the procession with a point to leave the score at half time 0-13 to 0-5.
If the result was in any doubt at half time, the match was well and truly over when we scored 1-2 in the first five minutes of the second half to stretch the lead to 13 points, 1-15 to 0-5. A second goal in the 59th minute put the gloss on a comprehensive 2-20 to 1-10 win.
