Our Junior E panel travelled up to Canon Kearns Park to take on Erin's Own in the County Semi-Final.
We led 0-2 to 0-1 in a low scoring 1st quarter with the scores coming from Conor Lyng and Fiacre Farrell (F).
Erin's Own found the net after the water break to push them 2 points in front (0-2 to 1-1). We traded scores (Mick McDonald & Ciarán Keher Murtagh for us) with 'Comer before they netted for the second time on 29 minutes extending their lead to 5 (0-4 to 2-3).
However, we ended the half strongly firing over 3 unanswered points through Fiacre Farrell (F), Mick Grace and Eoin O'Brien to leave us trailing by 2 at half time (0-7 to 2-3).
We started the second half like a team on a mission, landing the first 4 points to nudge us into a 2 point lead, 0-11 to 2-3 (Mick Grace, Danny Cotterell (2) & Eoin O'Brien).
Fiacre Farrell exchanged frees with his Erin's Own counterpart before 'Comer goaled again in the 40th minute, 0-12 to 3-4. Erin's Own were reduced to 14 with 10 minutes to play after a reckless pull on Harry Murphy.
However, the red card appeared to only spur them on when they sent over two quick fire points to extend their lead to 2 with 53 minutes gone, 0-13 to 3-6.
Rower-Inistioge appeared to be heading for victory when Eoin O'Brien, Mick Grace (2F) and Mick McDonald landed unaswered scores to edge us into a 2 point lead with 3 minutes of normal time to go, 0-17 to 3-6.
It's never easy to reach a County Final and so it proved when Erin's Own struck for a 4th goal with time almost up, 0-17 to 4-6.
However, Rower-Inistioge showed great resilience and a Harry Murphy point sandwiched between 2 greats scores from Mick McDonald saw them emerge victorious on a scoreline of 0-20 to 4-6.
We will face Lisdowney in the final on the weekend of 27th - 29th August.
