Congratulations to Derek Lyng and the extended Lyng family on his appointment as Kilkenny Senior Hurling Manager.
Derek won six All-Ireland senior medals, an All-Star winner in 2002 and 2003, and part of nine Leinster senior hurling triumphs with Kilkenny.
Derek’s Grandfather -Tomdy was one of the founder members of The Rower Inistioge GAA Club back in 1955 and his Dad, John played with the Club at under age level and Senior during the seventies. John won All Ireland medals with Kilkenny at Minor in 1973 and played a starring role scoring 5 points in the 1975 Under 21 final success when Kilkenny defeated Cork in Dungarvan in one of the all-time great Under 21 All Ireland finals.
